Mary L. Hahn has honed her skills in the courtroom over the last 18 years, specializing in civil litigation and appellate law, in particular multi-party business litigation, construction law and general contract disputes. She practices in state district courts and in Federal Court. She also has substantial appellate law experience. She serves as the primary practicioner at the Minnesota Court of Appeals for the law firm.
Prior to moving to Northfield in 2000, Hahn practiced law at the Atlanta construction law firm, Shapiro, Fussel, Wedge, Smotherman, Martin & Price.
Hahn graduated in 1993 from the University of North Carolina School of Law in Chapel Hill with honors, is a published author and was on the North Carolina Law Review. She received her undergraduate degree, also with honors, from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, in 1990.
Hahn's colleagues credit her for detailed preparation, as well as her clear and effective presentation at the bench. "I feel confidence in my ability to anticipate the twists that litigation may take, while advising my client accurately and diligently," she says.
In Northfield, Hahn has served as President of the Board of the Northfield Arts Guild, and is a current board member of WINGS (Women in Northfield Giving Support). She has served as the President of the Rice County Bar Association, and is a member of the Fifth District Bar Association.
Hahn has been an active volunteer at her children's schools, where she has been a room parent for her two children. Hahn teaches group fitness classes at the Northfield Athletic Club, enjoys dancing and choreography, and performs in Northfield Arts Guild productions and with a local dance troupe she founded. Hahn is married to St. Olaf professor, Steve Hahn, and has two children, Erin and Luke.
